A look at manchado pinto horses around the world and in a variety of different patterns.
Manchado is a rare pinto pattern found almost solely in Argentina. There is not much information about this spectacular pattern but it has been found in more than one Argentinian breed, so there is speculation that it is the result of environment. The Argentinians are also known for their love of odd-colored horses, so it could be the result of breeding.
This pinto pattern can be confused with the leopard patterns, they do not carry the genetics. The animals pictured may be manchado animals, it’s difficult to gauge, it’s possible they are sabino animals. We believe the pictures were taken in Argentina, but can’t always confirm.
