A look at near-leopard appaloosa horses around the world and on a variety of different breeds.
Beautiful appaloosas come in an almost endless variety of spotting patterns, but can be categorized into several types based on the amount of white in the coat. White patterning that extends up to the neck and shoulder, but not the whole body is called near-leopard or suppressed leopard. Head and neck remain base color, while there are usually base colored spots inside the white field, often legs will remain dark as well.
