Pairing the lovely pastel shades of dun with the striking appaloosa white pattern can have incredible results. Appaloosa patterns can mask many of the dun characteristics, even the reliable dorsal stripe, as appaloosa patterns tend to run along the top of the body. This is a rarer combination, but both dun and appaloosa horses are said to be strong and sturdy mounts. Making the mix a robust animal indeed.
