Where I am
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Tell us a little about you, what is your background & where do you come from
I’m a Canadian of Austrian decent. Horses became a factor in my life the day I first saw one on television while in the hospital as a small child with mobility issues.

I wasn’t able to walk at the time and when I saw my first horse on a broadcast of a parade I was struck hard and fast. My logic was simple; if I couldn’t walk, I wanted to ride.

Where I am
Surprise, AZ

Tell us a little about you, what is your background & where do you come from?
I grew up as a child in Montana, and attribute these early memories as the reason for my subject matter. My Art degree is in Computer Animation/Photography. It is here that I fell in love with the camera and how to “show” the story. Eventually I found myself wanting more independence and creativity, and a friend suggested I look into the Fine Art side. This is when I took up oils.

Where I am
I live is beautiful Santa Barbara, CA. It is quite a horsey place, with the Santa Ynez Valley and its many equestrian facilities and breeding centers right over the hill.

Tell us a little about you, what is your background & where do you come from?
I was born and raised in Santa Barbara, CA, although I only recently returned after a 28 year absence. I spent several years in the military flying helicopters, and about 10 years in Silicon Valley in technology management.

My career in art is relatively new. As a child, my younger sister was the artist and I was the musician. I never could draw, or so I thought.

Where I am
Darlington, County Durham, UK

Tell us a little about you, what is your background & where do you come from?
I grew up moving about every few years due to my father’s career in the Armed Forces so I am not really ‘from’ anywhere! We lived in many different locations across England and even spent a few years living near Washington DC in the US. I moved up to the North East of England to attend university and have ended up remaining here ever since!

Tell us a little about you, what is your background & where do you come from?
I have always lived in Saskatoon, a small city person by upbringing but with a lot of “country” and nature in my life experience.

I think I was born loving art and horses, but it took a while for the two to come together in my life and work.

Where I am
Dalton, Ohio, Ohio Amish Country

Tell us a little about you, what is your background & where do you come from?
I live in a quiet little Amish community in rural Ohio. My husband and I owned and operated various farm based businesses over the years from boarding stables to organic market gardening and all sorts of things in between. It probably goes without saying the caring of the animals was my favorite aspect of farm and rural living.
