Intro
Also called Chola, the Serrana Horse is a medium sized variety of Peruvian Criollo which is bred in the Lower Andean Regions.
Origins
Different than the other Criollo varieties found in the country, this animal is more adapted for low and flatland use. Many of the other strains are bred high in the Andes mountains and tend to be heavier and slightly less refined. Serrana animals likely have considerable Paso influence, providing refinement and smooth gaits.
