The Leonharder is a handsome, robust pony that comes from some of the most beloved European and British bloodlines. Creating a pony that is both useful and prolific.
Origins
A truly 21st century breed, the Leonharder Pony was the brainchild of a farmer by the name of Johann Abfalter. He started with Haflinger and Welsh Ponies, breeding their offspring to Andalusian animals. Johann’s initial goal was breeding mares for their milk to make cheese. He later decided to start a new breed with the foals. They were officially recognized in 2011.
