Intro
The Hodh Horse is not an official breed, but a strain of West African Barb which is found in Mali and in the Hodh Ech Chargi of Mauritania for which it is named.
Origins
This strain of Barb involves some Arabian genetics. Both hardy desert animals and near enough to each other geographically. Barbs are known for their thick frame and convex profile, Arabians for their handsome silhouette and concave profile. These two mighty bloodlines have likely been combined for centuries and this is one example, notable for its almost exclusively grey coat.
