Intro
With the exception of the Yabou, the Goklan horse is the heaviest descendant of the old Turanian horse that was bred by the Goklan Turkoman that border Iran. This is a mountainous region, so these animals were well-suited for difficult footing.
Origins
The Goklan breed shows characteristics of both Arabian and Akhal-Teke animals, however the mountains bred size into them and physically they resemble a robust Thoroughbred. They are not listed in the DAD-IS as a breed, so they may be considered a type of Turanian descendant.
