Intro
Named for the region from which they came, the Ghazi Horse is a mystery. They are possibly bred for an equestrian test of skill called tent pegging played in the region.
Origins
This is a saddle breed and similar to several of the breeds found in Pakistan and neighboring India, their ear tips are curved in a rather extreme manner. Although the Ghazi ears may not be as extreme as some of the other breeds and don’t generally meet in the middle.
There is a possibility this is not a breed (they aren’t listed in the DAD-IS) but rather a strain of one of the official breeds bred in the Ghazi area (likely the Baluchi. The black example on the left below was labeled as a Ghazi horse.
