Intro
The Naru Gor, Narugor or Fleuve is a light saddle horse that comes from the Saint Louis Region in Senegal. They were developed by crossing Barb animals with small local types.
Origins
Their origins are a mystery, but horses have long played a large role in Senegalese life, from transport to status. Equestrian traditions involving the Fleuve were generally limited to the elite and even today, they are considered among the finest of the breeds found in Senegal.
This breed is also a foundation for the Fouta breed.
