East Friesian Warmblood Horse

Intro

The modern day East Friesian bears little resemblance to the to the old East Friesian breed from which it comes. The modern breed is more closely related to today’s Oldenburg.

Origins

The East Friesian Warmblood comes from a wide variety of bloodlines, from England to Spain to Turkey to Poland. The idea was to produce a modern horse that met the growing needs of equestrian sporting. Cleveland Bay, Norman & Arabian blood was also thrown into the mix and more recently the refinement of Hannoverian genetics.
