Dutch Riding Horse

Intro

The NRPS Paard or Dutch Riding Horse is a relatively new registry and animals are bred for sport. The difference between this type and some of the KWPN animals is a dose of Arabian blood.

Origins

Established in 1981, when the NRPS studbook became a subsection of the Arab Horse Studbook in the nation. Today they are recognized in Europe and have 11 provincial departments. In order to register with them, animals must possess Arabian or Anglo-Arabian blood. They also have separate categories for horses and ponies.

An appreciation for Arabian blood is found worldwide and their genetics run through the veins of many modern breeds. This registry is focused on infusing their high qualities in to larger animals for sport.
