Chinese Mongolian Horse

Intro

The Mongolian horse is perhaps the oldest true breed of horse, their bloodlines are ancient and have been a foundation influence on many of the breeds throughout Asia and Europe.

Origins

The Chinese Mongolian horses are an offshoot of the breed and made up of Mongolian animals that were left in the country after Mongolia gained independence in 1910. By the 1980’s Chinese Mongolian horses were found throughout the country and comprised a large percentage of their overall equine population. There are four types, Ujumqin, Abaga, Baicha and Wushen. Today, the rise of mechanized transport has affected their numbers.
