Bring On The Breeds

Breeds Page

There are more horse breeds than I ever dreamed possible when I began my horse breeds page. Recently I had a friend tell me that the list was incomplete & provide me some holes I was missing (and there is more to come).

Can’t Hurt To Ask

So I’m asking for help from my readers. My goal is to compile a list of breeds with information (and clear images) for each one. There is very little information about some of the older & more obscure breeds, and often it is in a language I don’t understand. Plus finding pictures is very time-consuming.

The idea is to be objective about each breed and to provide basic information about their history, traditional colors, temperament, features & physique.

A Three-Part Question

There are three main things I’m asking for help with.

1. Images – I’m looking for images of all breeds, the more obscure the better. Specifically I’d like a clear confirmation shot, a shot at liberty & a shot of them at work doing something the breed is commonly used for. The Akhal-Teke page is a good example. Any images I use will be fully credited with a link to you as the source.

2. Information – Any of what is already up there is based on my research online & in books. If you have information on any of the breeds (or think I should update what is already there) please send it over. I’ll credit you for any info I use with a link to your website.

3. Extras – I’m also looking for clear videos of each breed, places to buy them, places with studs, breed-specific art, and breed-specific books. If you sell, breed, paint or write about a specific breed, let me know and I’ll add a link to you on the page of your breed.

A Win, Win Situation

In the end a joint effort can be the most rewarding & I’m always happy to give credit where credit is due. If you want to get involved, please contact me and we can get started!

    Greetings,
I have noticed that in the breed profiles you have measurements of 15.6, 12.8, 14.5, etc. There is ONLY 4 inches in a hand! You can have 13.1, 15.3, 14.2, 16.0. You work with horses! You should know this!!!! You have a lot of fixing to do! Thanks, Rene
