Today’s horse poetry is quick and lively, written by James Whitcomb Riley. I’m not sure when he wrote this, but he lived from 1849-1916.
Bless The Hoss
I bless the hoss from hoof to head –
From head to hoof, and tale to mane! –
I bless the hoss, as I have said,
From head to hoof, and back again!
Fantastic
While I enjoy the longer poems, this one has to be my favorite. It’s short, sweet and effectively puts into the words how we feel about our trusty mounts. If you liked this you may also enjoy an excerpt from Dead Souls by Nikolai V. Gogol.
