Saturdays seem to have become the day I feature horse artists of days gone by and I will continue that for as long as I can find more artists. Today’s artist is Giovanni Fattori, an Italian artist of the late 19th century.
Split Personality Work
Giovanni began his career painting historical figures and military subjects, although as his experience grew he turned to more domestic scenes (while still including the lives of soldiers). He was an incredibly prolific artists and horses appear in a large percentage of his work. In fact, I found so many I had to split his collection into two parts. Today some more domestic scenes and next time I’ll post some of his military art.
More Giovanni
Stay tuned because there is more to come (probably next Saturday). Until then be sure to check out more horses of the masters.
