Horse cultures can be found in all corners of the globe and it’s important that we preserve them. The onslaught of mechanization during the 20th century redefined our relationship with this noble animal. We want to celebrate all horse cultures of he world, even if we find some of them disagreeable.
Island Horses
There are no horses native to the Caribbean islands, all horses found there today are the ancestors of animals once brought starting during colonial times. Like many breeds of the Americas, animals found there frequently have Iberian lineage to some degree. We got lucky and found some amazing shots of handsome Barbadian animals in island scenes that are almost too lovely to be real.
Most of the images below are probably taken at Pebbles Beach, where grooms bring race horses to the water for their morning swim. Such an interesting experience it’s grown as a tourist attraction.

Breeds of Barbados
While there are obviously horses on Barbados, there are no official breeds from the nation.
The water is so blue in the last picture. It almost makes me think it’s photo shopped! :p
