Taking a week off of horse jobs to do something unexpected and fun on a Monday. I’ve always been a big fan of photography, (horses in specific) but some of the horse photographers I’ve featured have given me a whole new view of horse images.
I did some searching and tracked down fantastic shots that show an abstract side of the equine animal.
Shadows, we all have one, but it usually only hangs around during the daytime.
In my never ending quest to find horse pictures for this site sometimes I run across images that I will actually build a post around. This is one of those cases.

The future is coming, and Kim Graham is going to be ready. An artist by trade, she has created a way to walk like a horse – literally. Her digitigrade leg extensions mimic the hind legs of horses and can be strapped on in a matter of seconds.

Hands down my favorite member of the equine family will always be the stallion, there is just something about their wild unpredictability, not to mention such extreme personality.
I can honestly say I’ve met very few animals with a personality as big as that of a stud horse.
I started digging around for pictures of stallions and to my delight I was able to come up with some pretty amazing shots. Photographers seem to appreciate the challenge of capturing their spirit on film.

You don’t have to be a horse lover to appreciate the variety found in the window to their soul. Different breeds and color combinations can create some really amazing horse eyes.
I started looking around and found that photographers seem to have an appreciation for the many varieties of equine eye too. Some of the images actually capture the photographer reflected in the eye, giving the photo an interesting depth.

There is nothing horse people like better than a well-made horsey cake. It seems in many cases, the more life-like the better.
I’m not so sure I’m on board with all of these, but some of them are really cute and it is fun to get ideas for treating a fellow horse lover on their birthday.
Most of them are put together by professional cake makers, but I suspect some of them were made by adventurous novice bakers too. Hats off to the artists who did a bang up job of turning equines into yummy desserts.
