Intro
The Romanian Saddle or Romanian Sport Horse was created to provide a riding horse that excelled in sporting, dressage and jumping.
Origins
Established with a base of Thoroughbred, Arabian, Gidran, Furioso and some trotters for specific characteristics.
Like most sport type breeds, the objective is to register and breed fine sport horses for a variety of competitive equestrian sports. Often there are several sub-categories within the registry for specific sports, for example dressage horses have different requirements than eventing animals. In general, animals must be versatile, athletic, have an overall harmonious conformation and a calm disposition.
