Intro
Also called Mingling, the Ningqiang Horse is a miniature type and can be found in Guangpin, Yangguan and Daijiaba District, Ningqiang County and Shanxi/Shannxi Province.
Origins
There is not much known about the origins of this small horse breed except that they were used for agricultural purposes. Mechanized farming practices have caused a decline in their numbers over the 20th century. Although in 1990 the local government stepped in to establish breeding and research centers in an attempt to preserve their lineage.
