Intro
The term Sport Horse is roughly used for the same type of horse worldwide. Generally it is a highly athletic animal that excels in jumping, dressage or eventing. They come in a variety of breeds and are often warmbloods.
Origins
The idea of a sport horse in Britian likely began with countryside hunters and when that fell out of fashion breeding changed it’s tactic. Sport animals are judged solely on performance, generally expected to compete at a certain level in qualifying events.
