Top 7 Freakiest Looking Horses Ever

Horses are usually beautiful creatures, but there are a few out there that are ugly enough to make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. Horse lovers spend so much time pouring over an endless supply of beautiful horse pictures, so I thought I’d switch things up a little.

This post is my tribute to all the freaky equines out there, you don’t have to be pretty to be beautiful!

1. Ole’ Blue Eyes

Rocky
It’s hard to look at anything but this horses eyes, except maybe for his wild hair. if this little guy was a person he’d be the kind of person you don’t want to meet alone in a dark alley.

2. Gigantor

friggin adorable in a really ugly kinda of way!!! Look at how small that bit and bridle is?!?!

This little foal has an almost perfectly proportioned body and one huge forehead. Does that mean her brain is larger than average?

3. Happy

7 us and the ugly horses
If it were possible for a horse to look depressed, this one nails it. Perhaps because of what they’ve done to his tail.

4. Uncle Larry

The Zorse
The zorse looks like some sort of fairy tale creature under normal circumstances, and the blue eyes make this one look like the crazy uncle of the magical forest.

5. Midnight

albino mule
Pure white animals with red eyes always look a bit like vampires. While this little guy is a baby, he’s a baby I’d never turn my back on at night.

6. Andre

This boy is HUGE!
This horse looks big enough to scare an elephant. Cleaning his hooves must take an hour, what scares me is how much it costs to feed this monster every month.

7. Just plain scary

albino
There are no words…

I think they are all interesting and have their own unique qualities. They are fun to look at. I think the second one is so beautiful and has beautiful coloring. It was a crossbred to a zebra. It does look like a mystical creature. I wouldn’t mind looking at those patterns whatsoever. I’d love a pet like that. I hope it’s happy in that pretty pasture.

Sorry, I meant the fourth one down. The little mini foal is adorable. Would make an adorable little lawn mower for a large front and back yard. Ole blue eyes is cute too. Just needs some attention, the mane is rubbed out and it has a bloated belly. That might be neglect. I think the white one is cute but the ears are too big. But always remember a lot of beautiful horses went through ugly duckling stages. This horse is not ugly though. Horses and ponies don’t balance out until they are a little older than their 6th year growth age. Look at Arabians, their backs are not developed enough to ride until they’re four years old. If you do try to ride it before that then it’s back will swoop down.
One thing about a lot of so called ugly horses is that their breeders are ugly. It’s cruel to experiment with cross breeding. I saw someone breeding a tall stud to a little pony on the you tube. That was a low down and dirty cruel thing to do. Anyone with a half wit knows that this could tear the little pony’s belly apart when she tries to give birth. It is not a humane act. It’s wrong to breed ponies to big horses regardless if it’s male or female. They weren’t meant to breed. If you are one of those people who cross breeds ponies to horses. You need to stop it. Just stop…
But Fugly. I would never dare call that zebra patterned horse fugly. That creatures color pattern is gorgeous, just different. I love blue eyes in cats . A lot of people love blue eyed animals. It would be ugly if an animal was rejected simply because of it’s eye color. Just horrible because it’s just not ugly. A person shouldn’t stop breeding a horse simply because it has blue eyes.
I always thought it was nasty to breed a jack to a horse myself but the offspring are easier to ride and known to be more calm than full bred horses. Nonetheless, you shouldn’t mix animal breeds. Its tacky. As for the FUGLY statements. I don’t think some of these horses are as ugly as all that. Some of them have visible flaws but FUgly. I don’t think so.
Remember this too. There’s many different areas of competition in horsemanship and where a horse is judged based on it’s performance not coloring. Some champions were so called fugly and shouldn’t be rejected just for that reason.

The white baby is a MULE and it is common that they have big ears and the one called o’le blue eyes is fine, he is a young horse and its common for there mane to look that way and even some horses have manes like that he isnt bloated either… i have horses and have had them all my life, i know what im talking about. and the white horse at the bottom is a perlino or creamello (Google it) and its ears look long because the for lock and some mane have been shaven…

The white/cremello horses are not ugly!!! And not albino!!! No Abino! No! No! No! … What worries me is that the dam in that babies picture is a pinto (any pinto should be tested for overo because it can be hidden by tobiano or sabino) I hope that little baby wasn’t a LWO

Sorry but I don’t find any of the horses “freaky” as you put it. The Zorse is a deliberate cross breed that was developed in Africa because of their resistance to many of the mosquito spread diseases there. The regular horses were becoming ill too often. The little mini has a head that is probably the right size for it at birth. About 60% or more of all horses have heads that look out of proportion to their bodies at birth. Andre is just beautiful and BIG, just what his breed is suppose to be. The horse that looks pissed of in the photo might be mad at fly since the camera can’t not capture the whole range of what was going on at the time. As to the Fugly blog, I use to read it all the time (since Cathy began it)but after awhile it gets old – just picking on horses and people by the commentators is just not my thing to read anymore.

how can you say they are ugly!
The zorse is gorgeous, as is every single one of them.
they are all unique and absolutely beautiful, any one wo says they are ugly are not proper horse people
    anyway, personality over looks!

Jan…who are you talking to? What’s yuck?
And I agree with pretty much everyone has said. These are beautiful horses! I love them and want them all! Can I have them please? And Chris…how did you find such a video? I like to think people who are cruel to animals have a special place in Hell just for them! I absolutely love horses and animals in general. My dream is to some day own some horses.
Real quick, because it’s my duty to mention this: I work at a farm (volunteer actually) that takes in rescued horses (some of their stories are so sad!) and then uses those horses in therapeutic riding for people with disabilities. It is located in a small town in Maryland. Here is the website: http://www.tranquilityfarmsequestrian.com. You can learn about the farm there and how to donate. Please help us out! The horses (and the cats and dogs that have been rescued as well, who also live on the farm) love getting help and always send their love when we tell them that they got some money to help them and to help them help people. Thank you and <3 to all animals and those who care for them!
p.s. what’s so creepy about these horses? don’t get it…

No Good Horse is a bad color and for the blue eyes, I love them but for me, only if they have dark pigment around or behind them. Just a personal choice.

I was honestly expecting to see ugly horses that were results of poor choices but not this time…The Zorse is just gorgeous. I want one!

I find all those horses and the zorse beautiful examples of their breed, with one exception. That mini horse shows obvious signs of dwarfism – bulged forehead with excessively large head, shortened limbs, slight curvature to the limbs. Breeders of top quality minis avoid dwarfs like the plague.

Well, for starters, the ‘albino’ is a mule. I guess the zorse got included, so he’s okay, too.

And he can’t be a true albino because the albino gene is lethal in horses. An albino foal would most likely be born dead or dis in a few hours at the very least. This little guy is just all white.

No offence to anyone or the horses, but when albino horses just stare at me in a weird, oddish way (even in pictures), it kind of creeps me out. It’s like they can see into your soul or something. Shudder.

The blue eyes on that first little guy did give me momentary pause, but I have to admit he has his own unique charm and I think I’d enjoy his company. That zorse is so unbelievably gorgeous that I would sell the house and live in a cave to own it. Andre is just a gorgeous, gorgeous guy! None of the rest are actually ugly, to my mind, although I am also worried about dwarfism with that foal. I’ll agree with you that the last horse is darned scary, though – I wouldn’t call it ugly, but I’m with Anne about white horses in general, and those almost-white eyes are just too much for me, lol. We all have our little quirks …

look idiot those horses are not freaky, no horses are freaky and actually the horses are unique especially the ones of 4 and 5. I have been with horses all my life and its not their looks that matter its their personality. I would suggest you put unique instead of “freaky”

Freaky? ugly? were are you looking? i see 7 amazing horses. Not even the last one is scary! The big one isnt a monster either. But your right on being scared of the price. The Tiny One…Looks Like it received some in breeding there and hope it didnt get any sicknesses.
The Zorse does look like a fairy tail! Hes like a dream! id love to own him! The Mad one could be angry at a fly, rider could be doing something to anger him, or the other horse so close could be causing it. As for Ole Blue Eyes Hes Beautiful! i love the dappled greys! and the blue eyes make it even better. You cant stop staring at them for they are so Pretty.

These are amazing horses! they are all equally nice, and while some people may find them freaky, others actually find them pretty. a concern….the little all white foal (NOT AN ALBINO THIS DOESNT EXIST IN HORSES) may have LWO……not too sure, may just be a really cremelloey cremello
