Intro
Also called Vladimirskaya, Russian Clydesdale and Ivanovo, the Vladimir Heavy Draft was developed in the Vladimir and Ivanovo Regions of Russia as a medium draft breed with both power and speed. This area has long been known for the creation of good horses.
Origins
This breed was created by crossing large native breeds with draft breeds, including Percheron, Suffolk and Shire. However the most important influence was three Clydesdale stallions born in the early 20th century.
They were officially recognized as a breed in 1946.

Average height 15 – 16 hands

Head is long and clean often with a convex profile
Neck is long and muscular
Back is long and can be dipped
