Only about 3,000 individuals of this breed exist, and at present there is no breed association or stud book for them.
Origins
The Cukurova horse was developed in Turkey by crossing Uzunyayla and Turkish Arabians, then crossing them with native Turkish Anadolu ponies. The Cukurova is a handsome, spirited animal and larger than the Anadolu.
Two Types
Necessity created two different types, both of which are very rare.
Harness type – Which carries Uzunyaala blood.
Saddle type – Carries more Arabians influence.
