A whaler (because they came from New South Wales) or brumby, they are the descendants of the first horses that the white settlers bought in, they are a mixed breed of thoroughbreds, plow horses, Timor ponies etc. Their great-great-great-great grand parents are the ones that escaped and made their way Into the mountains.
