The Kentucky Coffee Bean tree is also a colonizer. I loved the tall shade, the gorgeous fall colors, BUT - sprouts started coming up all over my & my neighbor's lawns & flower beds. At first we pulled them. Then resorted to poisons that only killed the sprout, not the root.. They were not seedlings - but from the roots, like locust & aspen.
I finally sadly had them cut down. But that only made the problem worse. Five years later they continue. Just back from a 3 week vacation there are actually hundreds! - some already 2 feet tall. And I haven't been able to find anyone who can tell me how to stop it.! People should be warned. This is in Oregon where plants flourish, but his is monstrous. I hope you can help. My neighbors now hate me.
