Amianthium muscitoxicum, Stagger Grass

Description

Perennial herb which grows up to 40 inches. Leaves are basal only and grow long. Flowers are white / green / dark purple and have 6 petals.

Concern Level

Only during drought conditions, unpalatable.

Toxic Parts

The entire plant is toxic, high concentration in the bulb.

Frothing at the mouth, lack of coordination, heavy breathing, low body temperature, weakness, death.

Danger

Contains an alkaloid which affects respiratory function and can be fatal.
