Intro<\/h3>\n

Like most warmblood types, the Moravian is bred for temperament, athletic ability and other specific characteristics, rather than breeding for lineage.
\n<\/p>\n

Origins<\/h3>\n

The foundational bloodlines for this breed include Furioso<\/a>, Gidran<\/a>, Nonius<\/a>, Shagya Arabian<\/a> and Kisber-Flever<\/a>. These crosses produced a specific type and throughout the mid 20th century they had a dedicated studbook. <\/p>\n

In 1971 they were absorbed into the Czech Warmblood<\/a> studbook where Trakehner<\/a> blood was introduced. In 1996 an effort to reestablish the Moravian Warmblood as their own breed was started. By 2004 the Society of Breeders and Friends of the Moravian Warmblood was acknowledged by the Czech Ministry of Agriculture and an official studbook was established.<\/p>\n

Generally bay<\/a> or brown<\/a>, but can often be found in chestnut<\/a>, black<\/a> or grey<\/a><\/p>\n
