Adding Thoroughbred blood doesn&#8217;t always improve a sturdy breed and often produces animals not well suited for the rugged geography of island life. While small, they tend to favor the Thoroughbred characteristics and are considered light saddle horses. <\/p>\n<p>Perhaps that is the reason they are considered at risk and in 2010 there were only 144 left. Although as racehorses can win money, those left are likely well-kept.<\/p>\n<h3>Features<\/h3>\n<p>Average height 15.3-16.2 hands<br \/>\nMane and tail hair are thin<\/p>\n<h3>Physique<\/h3>\n<p>Head is thin with a straight profile<br \/>\nNeck is muscular<br \/>\nBack is straight<br \/>\nHindquarters are inclined<br \/>\nLegs are thin<\/p>\n<h3>Traditional Colors<\/h3>\n<p> The color of the dress is usually berry or alezane, with whitish or grayish shades.
