Sadly as machines began to replace animals in the 20th century their numbers began to dwindle.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Origins<\/h3>\n<p>The origins of this breed are a mystery, but they became an important element of life for the tribes found in the Mogod Mountains. Known for their strength and agility carrying heavy loads on steep mountain terrain, this is a true mountain type. <\/p>\n<p>Larger breeds more suited to desert terrain have grown in popularity in the country, pushing out these native ponies.
