They tend to breed true to type and have several distinguishing physical characteristics like their ram&#8217;s head profile and thick hair. <\/p>\n<p>Over the years there has been some selective cross breeding, first with <a href=\"\/breeds\/arabian-horse\">Arabian<\/a> animals and later using <a href=\"\/breeds\/thoroughbred\">Thoroughbred<\/a> blood.
