The animals were a cross between <a href=\"\/breeds\/ardennes\">Ardennes<\/a>, <a href=\"\/breeds\/percheron\">Percheron<\/a>, <a href=\"\/breeds\/shire-horse\">Shire<\/a>, <a href=\"\/breeds\/clydesdale\">Clydesdale<\/a> and <a href=\"\/breeds\/orlov-trotter\">Orlov<\/a> with native Russian horses. When they reached eastern Turkey, the resulting crosses were then crossed with the <a href=\"\/breeds\/anadolu-pony\">Anadolu Native<\/a> (and later more Ardennes to improve stock). <\/p>\n<p>Only found in the Ardahan, Artvin and Kars Provinces, near the border with Georgia and Armenia.
