The Tattu Pony is the smallest variety of pony found in Nepal and they can be found at higher altitudes than some of the other types.

Like their cousin breeds in the area, this is a tough, robust little animal. While some of the other Nepalese ponies could be called small horses, the Tattu is definitely a pony. As hardy as they are frugal, these little animals have been shaped by extreme climates, treacherous footing and poor fodder. It may also be worth mentioning that this is one of the only pony types in Nepal that lists chestnut as a color. <\/p>\n
