This breed is thought to be descendants of an interesting mix of bloodlines, Tarpan and Przewalski crossed with <a href=\"\/breeds\/arabian-horse\">Arabian<\/a> animals.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Origins<\/h3>\n<p>Belonging to group of Balkan mountain horses and are similar to mountain animals bred in Bosnia, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Romania. As a whole, they are an extremely resilient bunch, with a strong constitution and great endurance, surviving on poor fodder. Also incredibly surefooted, they can get to inaccessible areas carrying large loads or people. <\/p>\n<h3>Features<\/h3>\n<p>Average height 13.1-13.2 hands<\/p>\n<h3>Physique<\/h3>\n<p> The body weight is around 300-400 kg. Coat colors: dorata is the most common, followed by gray, i.e. white, crow, alata. The mountain horse is considered a pack animal and can carry 100-120 kg on a saddle.
