Intro<\/h3>\n

Also called the LLCIP and Ojibway, the Lac La Croix indian Pony is an incredibly rare breed from Ontario, Canada. Bred by the Ojibway people, from which they get one of their names.
\n<\/p>\n

Origins<\/h3>\n

They are thought to have evolved in the 19th century and come from a cross between the smallest strain of Canadian Horse<\/a> crossed with Spanish Mustangs of the southwestern pains. Currently their numbers are very low, but a studbook was established in 1999 and enthusiasts have established breeding programs to preserve this heritage breed.<\/p>\n
