Intro<\/h3>\n

Predating the Criollo<\/a> craze of Central and South America, the Arabian<\/a> breed has developed locally for centuries. Also known as Iraqi-Arabi and Aubian, the Al-Arabi Horse is Iraq’s strain of this mighty breed.
\n<\/p>\n

Origins<\/h3>\n

The Arabian breed is very, very old and their origins are shrouded in mystery. There are several theories about the territory where they originated, but modern day Iraq is definitely within the cradle of their possible beginnings. By 1500 BC Arabian horses had been mastered by tribes of the area and had become indispensable the the people. <\/p>\n

There are not many records about the Iraq specific Arabian, the DAD-IS lists them as at risk and as of 2020 there were between 180 and 300 left in the country. <\/p>\n
