Animals that were let loose or escaped found a home together in the Kaimanawa mountains, for which they are now named.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Origins<\/h3>\n<p>Over the years these relatively small animals have grown in stature but due to the many different breed influences their blood includes. There is wide variety of conformation in the herds and they are not technically a breed, but listed in the DAD-IS.
