The Jinhong or Jinjiang Horse is a native, indigenous breed from the coastal province of Fujian, in the southeast of China.

This is a highly agricultural area with a strong need for a robust farm animal and breeding records date back for the last thousand years. Thought to have Arabian<\/a> influence as they carry their tail high when galloping. While important to people in Fujian, they went without an official name until the end of the 20th century. <\/p>\n Raised mostly in isolation, they are a relatively pure breed even today. In 2006 they were registered with the National Register of Conservation of Animal Genetic Resources and breeders received grants to preserve their genetics.
