This area is quite proud of their horses and several state farms were responsible for much of the breed&#8217;s development.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Origins<\/h3>\n<p>This geographical region has widely varied climates and topographies, which meant that their animals had to be highly versatile to be beneficial and efficient. <\/p>\n<p>The breed was very systematically developed, employing an intricate cross breeding system that comprised of introducing <a href=\"\/breeds\/ardennes\">Ardennes<\/a>, <a href=\"\/breeds\/russian-heavy-draft\">Soviet Heavy Draft<\/a>, <a href=\"\/breeds\/vladimir-draft\">Vladimir Draft<\/a>, <a href=\"\/breeds\/orlov-trotter\">Orlov Trotters<\/a>, Russian Thoroughbreds, <a href=\"\/breeds\/don\">Don<\/a> and <a href=\"\/breeds\/kabarda\">Kabarda<\/a> horses to local stock. <\/p>\n<p>This highly scientific cross breeding was a large operation, involving many different farms and herds of the area. Eventually eight lines were selected for recognition and the breed established in 1975.
