They are unique in their blonde coloring, which is due to a <a href=\"\/colors\/dilution-genes\/creme\">cream dilution gene<\/a> in their bloodlines.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Origins<\/h3>\n<p>The first <a href=\"\/breeds\/american-saddlebred\">American Saddlebred<\/a> animal to display the golden coat was a foal who was born in 1864 named Pat Cleburne, thus beginning a new line of genetics. These animals follow breeding and type guidelines of the ASHA and the main requirement for registering and breeding is the shiny copper palomino coloring. Although, it&#8217;s not just about color, this breed should be well refined and smooth to ride. <\/p>\n<h3>Features<\/h3>\n<p>Average height 15 &#8211; 17 hands<\/p>\n<h3>Physique<\/h3>\n<p>Head is shapely and well proportioned<br \/>\nEars are small, alert and high on the head<br \/>\nEyes are bold and intelligent<br \/>\nNeck is long and arched<br \/>\nBack is short and strong<br \/>\nLegs are straight and long<\/p>\n<h3>Traditional Colors<\/h3>\n<p>Color varies from creme to deep copper, but ideal coloration is the color of a gold coin with a white mane and tail.
