They are primarily used as pack animals, carrying spices and coffee from remote inaccessible farmlands to highways and markets for distribution.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Origins<\/h3>\n<p>While the origins of this breed are shrouded in mystery, they are probably an old one. A typical heavy forest type, Kafa horses are among the largest of the Ethiopian breeds, well suited for the harsh tropical jungle conditions.
