Also called Rangerbred Horse, the Colorado Ranger Horse registry is unlike most breed registries in that they only accept animals that are directly descendant from one of two foundation stallions.

This particular breed began in 1878 when General U.S. Grant visited Turkey, he returned to the states with two desert stallions, an Arabian<\/a> (named Leopard) and a Barb<\/a> (named Linden Tree). These two animals influenced almost every breed found in the US today. <\/p>\n Upon their arrival to the states, these two stallions created quite a stir and were used to improve local harness horses. In 1894 the two stallions were brought west to Colorado where they began a new breed, the Colorado Ranger.
