These two animals influenced almost every breed found in the US today.

Upon their arrival to the states, these two stallions created quite a stir and were used to improve local harness horses. In 1894 the two stallions were brought west to Colorado where they began a new breed, the Colorado Ranger. The Colorado Ranger Horse Association was founded in 1935 and since then has continued to protect and promote the Rangerbred animals.

Features

Average height 14.2 – 15.2 hands

Traditional Colors

Chestnut | Grey | Bay | Black | Roan | Appaloosa
No pinto white patterns

Temperament

Intelligent and bold

Use

Cow horse
Show horse
Riding horse

Helpful Links

* all links open in a new window
Colorado Ranger Horse Association

Video

Intro Also called Rangerbred Horse, the Colorado Ranger Horse registry is unlike most breed registries in that they only accept animals that are directly descendant from one of two foundation stallions.

[8
9
post-431","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-usa","tag-all-colors
["GET
