Sadly, tourism, poaching and lack of grazing land are a major threat to this breed &#8211; their numbers shrink every year.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Origins<\/h3>\n<p>The ponies on this island are related to <a href=\"\/breeds\/pindos-pony\">Pindos Ponies<\/a> and were originally used as pack animals or transport in the mountains.
