Canada has no indigenous horse breeds, but has long been known for breeding quality animals of many different types. The Canadian Cutting Horse is a recognized Canadian type.

Origins<\/h3>\n

Based largely on the American Quarter Horse<\/a> which they resemble in most aspects. Their principal job is working cattle and they are well suited for this task. Whether this task is accomplished on the ranch or in the show ring. <\/p>\n

Head is well proportioned with straight or convex profile
\nEyes are intelligent and kind

\nShoulders are sloping and powerful
\nChest is broad and deep
\nHindquarters are powerful and muscular
\nLegs are short and strong with hard tendons
\nFeet are well-shaped and sound<\/p>\n
