Intro<\/h3>\n

Also called the White Russian Carriage Horse and Belorusskaya, the Byelorussian Harness Horse comes from Belarus and is a breed brought about by local needs.
\n<\/p>\n

Origins<\/h3>\n

This animal was bred out of a local need for a harness horse and was formed by breeding native forest type horses with the Ardennes<\/a>, Brabant<\/a> and the Dole<\/a> from Norway (Dole was the strongest contributor). Long-term breeding practices of the Byelorussian Harness have resulted in a breed most suitable for agricultural use. It was well adapted to work in wooded areas with swampy and sandy soil.<\/p>\n

Today these animals are actively bred in Pobeda and Zarechye and there are two different types within the breed, large and medium respectively. According to the DAD-IS in 1990 there were 91210 reported animals in this breed. <\/p>\n

\nBack is long
\nLoin is flat

\nLegs are solid and clean, with feathering at the fetlock
