They were similar to what we consider a heavy warmblood today. This breed is now extinct.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Origins<\/h3>\n<p>This breed was a large light horse from the Timus Plateau of Romania. They were developed by crossing the <a href=\"\/breeds\/nonius\">Nonius<\/a>, <a href=\"\/breeds\/noriker\">Noric<\/a>, <a href=\"\/breeds\/ardennes\">Ardennes<\/a>, <a href=\"\/breeds\/oldenburger\">Oldenburg<\/a> and Lipitsa. They became an important animal to the local people and were used primarily for agricultural work. <\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, with the emergence of modernization techniques for farming, the Banat, among other draft type animals fell into extinction. According to the DAD-IS the breed was extinct as of 1920, which is the last and only year population data was provided for them.<\/p>\n<h3>Features<\/h3>\n<p>Average height 15.7 hands<br \/>\nMane and tail hair was not thick<\/p>\n<h3>Physique<\/h3>\n<p>With the influence of so many breeds, a standard was never agreed upon.<br \/>\nMarked withers<br \/>\nCrop is inclined<br \/>\nLegs are thin<\/p>\n<h3>Traditional Colors<\/h3>\n<p>Generally <a href=\"\/colors\/base\/chestnut\">chestnut<\/a>, <a href=\"\/colors\/modifiers\/bay\">bay<\/a> or <a href=\"\/colors\/modifiers\/brown\">brown<\/a><br \/>\nThe color of its coat was chestnut or bay. The hair of its mane and tail was not very thick.
