The Xilingol comes from the steppes of southeastern Xilinggral Meng in Inner Mongolia.

This is a relatively new breed that was developed in the 1960’s with a foundation of local animals were crossed with Russian Thoroughbred, Akhal-Teke<\/a>, Sanhe<\/a>, Kabarda<\/a> and Don<\/a>.
