The cob type Welsh pony is essentially a smaller type of the <a href=\"\/breeds\/welsh-d\">Welsh Cob<\/a> (Section D).<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Origins<\/h3>\n<p>This pony was created by breeding local <a href=\"\/breeds\/welsh-a\">mountain ponies<\/a> with <a href=\"\/breeds\/andalusian-horse\">Andalusian<\/a> and <a href=\"\/breeds\/cob\">Cob<\/a> blood, creating a stockier, more robust animal.
