Known for their sturdy build and great heart the Italian army has long used them as mounts.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Origins<\/h3>\n<p>This area has been known for their horses since the 18th century and this breed has seen improvements to the breed via <a href=\"\/breeds\/english-thoroughbred\">Thoroughbred<\/a> and <a href=\"\/breeds\/maremmano\">Maremmano<\/a> blood.
