It is believed that their ancestors came from Caucasus which means they are probably related to the <a href=\"\/breeds\/kabarda\">Kabarda<\/a> and they were bred pure in Turkey until the start of the 20th century when <a href=\"\/breeds\/anadolu-pony\">Anadolu<\/a> and <a href=\"\/breeds\/nonius\">Nonius<\/a> blood was added.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Origins<\/h3>\n<p>Taking their name from the Uzunyayla Plateau between Sivas and Kayseri provinces which is traditionally where they are bred. A handsome small riding horse, they have unfortunately low numbers in the 21st century.
